About

Data sources

FastFuel starts from MenuStat, a public-domain (CC0) dataset of chain-restaurant menu nutrition published via the Harvard Dataverse — roughly 30,000 items across 96 chains. Every item on this site carries its data source and vintage year. As we add chains, we also ingest nutrition PDFs published by the chains themselves; those items are labeled with their chain source and the year we captured them.

The vintage caveat

MenuStat is frozen at 2018 — chains change menus and recipes constantly, so treat those items as a guide, not gospel. Whenever we have fresher chain-published data for an item, it wins: look for the newest vintage year on the item's page.

Support FastFuel

FastFuel is a free side project — no ads, no paywall, no app to download. If it's helped you hit your protein goals, you can buy us a coffee ☕. Totally optional; the site stays free either way.
